Surf Lessons
Learning to surf the waves is truly an exhilarating experience and there is no better place to learn than the soft sands of Ohope Beach. Your instructors are friendly local surfers, fully qualified in surf coaching, first aid, and surf safety and awareness. Salt Spray provides soft top surfboards, wetsuits, rash vests and sunscreen. When you have finished you’ll have gained a certificate in surfing and Ocean knowledge to help you on your new surfing journey. Whether it be learning to surf with a group of friends, family or work colleagues, Salt Spray will cater for you. Our qualified instructors will teach you about ocean awareness, surf safety, and teach everything you need to ride the waves, with the emphasis on fun.

Equipment:
Salt Spray Surf School provides soft top surfboards and have long wetsuits (steamers) to use.
What to Bring:Please make sure you bring a towel, warm clothes, sunscreen, a sun hat and lots of water.
Lessons Options:Group lesson: Starting at $70 for a 2 hour group lesson with other beginner surfers. Private group lesson: We also offer private beginner lessons for you and your friends, family or colleague, starting at $85 per person for the 2 hour lesson. Individual lesson: If what your are looking for is a private lesson with the instructor, you can book a 1 on 1 private 2 hour lesson for $120. Options are also available for higher level coaching or shorter, 1 hour sessions, please call us to book this option. All prices are in nzd and don't include the 6% booking fee.
